SHITO-RYU, the pioneer Karate-Do style in Malaysia.
Introduced in 1966 under what was then known as the Karate Association of Malaysia (KAM). Shito-Ryu was first taught by three Japanese teachers (Sensei) from the Dai Nippon Karate-Do Kai Osaka in succession, namely:-
Yoshimasa Ishikawa Sensei who has settled down and working in Singapore, Toshi Yoneda Sensei ( deceased ) succeeded Ishikawa Sensei in late 1966 followed by Hidetoshi Mori Sensei.

The Dai Nippon Karate-Do Kai, headed by Kenzo Mabuni Sensei ( the second son of late Kenwa Mabuni Sensei, founder of Shito-Ryu is the original umbrella Shito-Ryu Karate-Do organization formed, by late Kenwa Mabuni Sensei. The Organisation was inherited by Kenzo Mabuni Sensei after his father's death and has since been renamed Nippon Karate-Do Kai.

Malaysia's third Sensei, Hidetoshi Mori Sensei was instrumental in the formation of Malaysia Association of Shito-Ryu Karate-Do (M.A.S.K.).

Consistent with his belief and commitment to uphold the purity of Shito-Ryu Karate style and preserve the honour of Karate-Do as a BUDO, he left KAM in early 1967. His student from the University of Malaysia dojo led by R.Raveendran (now residing in New Jersey USA and practicing Shito-Ryu Karate-Do full time) and the Bukit Bintang's boys' Secondary School dojo led by the Naser Sheikh Anwar Shihan (deceased) together with other individuals who also left KAM, became MASK's nucleus and initiated the formation of MASK as a national independent Karate-Do organization under the guidance of H.Mori Sensei. MASK became the controlling promoting and regulating body for the SHITO style/school. MASK was officially registered with the Registrar of Societies on December 1969. In 1972, under the orders from Minister of Culture Youth and Sport, KAM was deregistered by the Registrar of Societies.

In 1998, MASK registered with the Commissioner of Sports Malaysia.

Upon H.Mori Sensei's return to Japan in September 1969, the late Naser Sheikh Anwar Shihan took over his duties and responsibilities and succeeded him as MASK's Chief Instructor from 1969 to Feb 2002. At present the Chief Instructor for MASK is R.Ramakrishnan Shihan.
